What is a pain clinic?
Algology, or science of pain management is a new speciality of medicine. It deals all kinds of pain either alone by algologists (pain specialists) or in association with other specialists. Diagnois (reason of pain or disease behind pain) is must and treatment of disease is always tried to give long term pain relief. Pain management is not just taking care of pain and allowing disease to propagate and increase, it is treatment of disease also.

This clinic has a multi-disciplined team dedicated to the management of pain based on comprehensive approach to each patient as individual needs. The patients may suffer from different kinds of acute or chronic pain conditions like HEADACHE, FACIAL PAIN, NECK PAIN, SHOULDER PAIN, LOW BACK PAIN, KNEE PAIN, JOINT PAIN etc. due to variety of diseases like migraine, trigeminal neuralgia, arthritis, slipped disc, spondylosis, cancer etc. In this pain clinic we use a blend of different pain management modalities starting from yoga, meditation, pranayam to radio-frequency ablation, spinal cord stimulator, Percutaneous Discectomy, vertebroplasty & Ozone Nucleolysis.

Dr. Gautam Das is a leading Pain Specialist of the country. He did MD in Anaesthesiology from Calcutta University & stood first. Later he was trained in interventional pain management. He visited many pain clinics in India & abroad. He passed FIPP examination in 2007. He introduced many interventional procedures first time in India. His main area of interest is teaching of pain management. Conducting different courses since 2007. More than 700 doctors from Australia, USA and most European, African, Latin American and Asian countries have joined his courses. He served as Chairman of World Institute of Pain of India, Iran, Pakistan and Sri Lanka chapter from 2007 to 2013.
He is chief editor of Indian Journal of Pain (official journal of Indian chapter of IASP). He has been invited several times at International conferences as guest faculty outside his country. He is an examiner of FIPP (Fellow of Interventional Pain Practice) examination and has been invited at pain fellowship exam at USA and Netherlands. Visiting faculty of Pain Management at Padjadjaran University, Bandung, Indonesia. This University has started short course on Pain Management in collaboration with Daradia Pain Clinic, Kolkata. His pain clinic was awarded “Best Pain Clinic” by India Society for Study of Pain(ISSP) in 2011, this was only once in history of ISSP and “Excellence in Pain Practice” by World Institute of Pain for 2011-2015 period. - Prof A.
